Society expects women to be “modest,” especially when they reach vintage age, but Salma Hayek defies the status quo. The 55-year-old Mexican actress is unapologetic about her decision to show off her hot body in bikinis. She constantly graced her 19.5 million Instagram followers with views of her toned physique earlier this year.

In an exclusive interview with ET Online in February, she explained the reason for her new style – Quarantine and Body Positivity.

Quarantine Gains

With nothing to do and nowhere to go during quarantine, many of us added a lot of weight from eating, and Salma Hayek isn’t any different. The worst part about such gains is losing them – it’s so hard for the average woman. The Bandidas actress said, “I had to lose a lot of weight and exercise to get into the bikini towards the end of last year.”

Eventually, after a lot of work, reaching your target size is a euphoric experience, and Salma Hayek felt it too. She documented her journey to remind herself how much she could achieve with determination. “I’m glad I took a lot of pictures, I have no shame on it, because it was the first week of vacation.”

Contrary to popular misconception, Salma’s pictures weren’t from daily modeling but a single location! The Eternals actress revealed that she took many pictures during her vacation, and now she’s posting them one after the other. The mother-of-one doesn’t care if people get sick of her posts - she almost exhausted them anyways. “I saved my pictures, I’m not in the same condition today and I’m spreading the love out like every two weeks.”

On Top Of Her Game

Salma isn’t just slaying her bikini photoshoots, and she’s acing her career as well! The Mexican indigene starred in box-office topping movies of 2021 from Marvel’s Eternals to House of Gucci and Romantic Comedy Bliss.

Although she claims to have had a rough start, Salma Hayek is proud of the representation ethnic actors are getting in the industry today. This is only the beginning for the star because she signed a multi-film deal with the MCU.

Salma Hayek has a bleeding heart which spreads love everywhere she goes. When she’s not gushing about her best friend, fellow ethnic actress Penelope Cruz, she’s extending her condolences to legends.

On Dec. 14, she expressed deep hurt over the death of the King of Mexican Music, Vincente Fernandez. The deceased received 12 Grammys in his lifetime, 9 of which were Latin Grammy awards. “My condolences to his family who had the blessing of having him close. RIP,” Salma wrote on Instagram.
