The Green Bay Packers lost their best two receivers in the offseason. Davante Adams is now with the Raiders, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling joined Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.

On top of that, Robert Tonyan is coming off a major injury, raising even more doubts about an unproven receiving corps full of first-year players and often-injured veterans.

Packers Need Another Weapon

Rookies Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, and Samori Toure have reportedly 'looked the part' in OTAs and training camp. But they're still rookies.

Also, can they count on Randall Cobb and Sammy Watkins to stay healthy at this point in their careers? Can Allen Lazard step up and be a legit WR1? Those are legit concerns they need to address.

So, with that in mind, the Packers should look to trade for Tyler Lockett if they struggle to establish the passing game early in the season.

Seahawks Get More Picks

The Seattle Seahawks don't have any genuine incentive to trade their second-best wideout away. They claim they'll try to compete and just signed D.K. Metcalf to a massive contract extension, so it's not like they're throwing in the towel.

But that could change if they don't thrive early in the season. They've gathered multiple picks over the past couple of months, so maybe adding another mid-round selection for a 29-year-old will be too good of a chance for Pete Carroll to pass on, regardless of how much dead money they need to absorb.

Packers Land A Big-Play Threat

Lockett is one of the fastest receivers in the league, and the Packers have a glaring need for a big-play threat now that Valdes-Scantling is no longer on the premises.

He's posted three straight 1,000 seasons even with poor pass protection, and he's made a living out of torching DBs with his speed and lateral quickness. A guy with his route-running skills wouldn't need much time to develop chemistry with Aaron Rodgers.

They Both Need This

The Seahawks need to stop fooling themselves. They're not going anywhere in that division with Geno Smith and Drew Lock as the top-two guys in their QB room. So, why not take another pick for an aging player?

On the other hand, the Packers need to come to their senses and realize that they need more talent in their receiving corps. Rodgers isn't getting any younger, and they need more depth to keep with the rest of the contenders in the NFC.
