NeNe Leakes' ongoing lawsuits against Bravo TV over an alleged toxic workplace due to racial discrimination have led to several discussions about how the network treats black talent.

Another person who has also made negative complaints about her experience with the network and Bravo executives is former Real Housewives of Potomac star Monique Samuels.

The former RHOP star, who left the show after a rough season in 2020, revealed that her views regarding Bravo are similar to that of Nene.

Samuels shared her views on Leakes' legal battle with Bravo in an Instagram Live. "As far as NeNe with the network, she absolutely has a point. She absolutely has a point because at the end of the day, when you look at the housewives shows that have women of color, you only see them from one side," she said. "They only show one aspect for each different person. So it's almost like the Black housewives can't be a full person," she added.

In her opinion, Leakes does not get enough applause for what she has contributed to the network's success.

Being Unfairly Punished

Samuels said that her physical altercation with Candiace Dillard Bassett made her final season on the show difficult. The new Love & Marriage: D. C. star claimed that she was unfairly punished for her role in the altercation.

She told Tami Roman on Roman's FOX Soul show Get Into It that she was punished by blocking press opportunities and not featuring her in the episodes after the fight, which she said made her lose money.

Although Samuels was invited for season 6 of the show, she turned down the offer after watching part three of the reunion, which according to her, was poorly edited, and she was expected to take the entire blame for the fight with Bassett.

Leakes' Legal Complaint

According to documents obtained by PEOPLE, on April 20, Leakes filed a formal complaint against Bravo, Andy Cohen, NBCUniversal and RHOA productions, and Truly Originals. The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star claimed that she was "constantly retaliated against, being blacklisted, not being able to work, being silenced."

"From the day the series began filming, NeNe was the target of systemic racism from co-star Kim Zolciak-Biermann, which was tolerated by Bravo executive producer Andy Cohen and other executives," Leakes' lawyer David DeRubertis said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

Stopping Discrimination

Leakes revealed that the lawsuit's goal was to stop discrimination against black women.

"That's just the goal. Nobody wants to go to work every day as a Black woman with blonde hair and the head of the corporation call you a white woman. So, stop discrimination," she said.

She also denied claims that she was angling for a new show on the network, referring to it as "so small… so ridiculous." "It has nothing to do with having a temper tantrum and wanting a show," she added.
