Game of Thrones season 3 will premiere on March 31, and this newly released official recap video will catch you up on season 2. The video (below) also provides some commentary about how the events of the highly anticipated upcoming season 3 will unfold.

HBO’s Game of Thrones is one of the most popular series on the cable network, garnering about 10 million viewers an episode and making it the third-most watch series in the history of HBO. The series with its large ensemble cast has been nominated for numerous Golden Globe and Emmy awards.
Set in the fictional Seven Kingdoms of Westeros and based on George R.R. Martin’s series of sword-and-sorcery fantasy novels, Game of Thrones chronicles the violent dynastic struggles among the realm’s noble families for control of the Iron Throne.
Season 3 will signal some major changes for many fan-favorite characters. Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) has lost his role as Hand of the King, and sports a new facial scar. Jon Snow (Kit Harington) is a captive of the Wildlings, and Ygritte is set to become a romantic interest for the character. Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) is still searching for an army to help her invade Westeros and help her reclaim the Iron Throne. Some interesting developments are also likely in store for bully king Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson).
In the run-up to season 3 premiere, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has scheduled “an Evening with Game of Thrones” on March 19 in a venue in Hollywood. The sold-out event will be livestreamed by Emmys.com, Emmys.tv and Deadline.com. The panelists will reportedly include series creators/exec producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss George R.R. Martin and cast members Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Heady, Kit Harington, Michelle Fairley, Sophie Turner, and Maisie Williams.

Thanks for sharing this recap for Game of Thrones season two since any news about this show is good news! I work at DISH and several of my coworkers said this preview was a good refresher for what to expect on March 31. I just finished watching all of season two since I recorded it on my DISH Hopper. I like to watch entire seasons of my favorite shows at once on my days off and I can do that without needing to delete anything to make space because my DVR holds up to 2,000 hours of entertainment.
