Carmelo’s Mysterious Fast Ends After 15 Days

Carmelo Anthony’s mysterious fast is over.

The New York Knicks star abstained from food for 15 days. Why? Well, other than the fact that Anthony said it was for “spiritual reasons” no one really knows.

The New York Knicks have had a rough couple of weeks and it may have something to do with Carmelo’s mysterious fast.

Anthony told News Day:

“I usually do it sometimes just to get some clarity in my life … Spiritual reasons. I’m done now. I can’t do it no more.”

SB Nation reports that the Knicks have gone 3-4 since New Year’s Day. During that span, Anthony has actually played pretty well. He’s had a few 40 point games and is shooting 42% from the floor.

Still, Anthony said that his fast has been taking a toll on his body.

Anthony said:

“It’s a long story. I haven’t had a good meal in about 2 1/2 weeks. No meats, no carbs, anything like that. I don’t know how I was going through competing at a high level. Just sometimes these past three, four games where the body just feels depleted out there and just trying to find a way to get energy. But like I said, I surrender. I’m done. I’m going to get some food right now.”

Are you surprised that Carmelo Anthony has been fasting for the last two weeks? Do you think the Knicks will get back on the right track now that Anthony is, you know, eating?

He better go thru a line at Golden Corral and eat some meat! The Knicks are contenders!

  7. I'd say it's better than killing yourself and someone else……Fasting reminds you that your dying anyway, so your minute problems are no greater than God!
