Jennie Garth is looking amazing at 40-years-old, and recently revealed the secrets behind her 30lb. weight loss in an interview with Health.
Garth achieved her weight loss by eating right and exercising five days a week, doing a combination of plyometrics, kickboxing, and hiking with one of her dogs, reports Hollywood Life. In the interview, Garth detailed her secrets behind her amazing 30lb. weight loss, and gave some advice to others who wish to make her weight loss successes their own.
For working out, Garth suggests putting on your exercise clothes right away when you wake up. “I take my kids to school in my workout clothes. I’ll think, ‘I’m already in my clothes now, so I may as well work out!’ ” she says. She stresses using positive self-motivation, saying “The driving force of why I work out is just to be stronger—physically and mentally.”
For dieting, Garth recommends keeping close track of your progress. “I weigh myself every morning. If I don’t, before you know it, I’ll be up 10 pounds. It creeps. This morning, it was up 2 pounds. That’s OK. But if it’s up 6 pounds? I need to make adjustments.” She also cautions against falling for celebrity fad diets:
“My biggest regret is putting my body through fad diets: Atkins, cleanses, the hCG diet. I lost like 18 pounds, but it came right back. The worst was fasting with colonics for three or four days. It was the most horrifying experience ever!”
According to eCanadaNow, Garth is also happy that her ex-husband, Peter Facinelli, has moved on and found new love. Still, the failure of her 11-year marriage to him still causes her great emotional pain. Garth also says that she’s starting to date again, though would not say who she has been involved with.
She has been seen in public recently with Jason Clark, who manages heathcare solutions for Jones Lang Lasalle.
