Kate Middleton Maternity Dress: Duchess Already Dressing For Two
Kate Middleton is in the market for maternity dresses these days, and may have gotten a head start at the Sports Personality Year Awards in London. Grazia Daily noted that while the Duchess of Cambridge isn’t yet showing, her green Alexander McQueen dress was the perfect kind of gown to hide a baby bump.
“The floor-length gown made of crepe wool features bell-sleeves, a deep v-neck, trompe l’oeil belt waistband and a sweeping thigh-high slit while that slight peplum is perfect for concealing a barely-there baby bump (sic),” they report.
Whether Kate Middleton was trying to be discreet about her pregnancy with the dress of not, the Duchess will be dressing for two at some point in the near future.
Designer Sarah Burton, who took over as creative director at Alexander McQueen when he died in 2010, said that she would love to design maternity dresses for the pregnant Duchess when that day comes.
When asked if she’ll be designing Kate Middleton’s maternity dresses, she merely replied “I hope I will be,” reports THR.
Burton herself is also expecting: Twins, as a matter of fact.
She might be the go-to gal for Kate Middleton maternity dresses, too. In addition to designing the Duchess’s wedding dress, she also designed the lavender evening gown worn during her Royal Tour, as well as her Diamond Jubilee frock.
In any case, competition for who will design Kate Middleton’s maternity dresses will certainly be running high, and many designers will be chomping at the bit to have a go at her maternity wardrobe. Dresses worn by Middleton end up being pretty hot sellers.

Why do they keep referring to her as Kate Middleton? Diana Spencer was referred to Princess Diana. Isn't Kate a Princess, also?

I wish they would stop calling her Kate Middleton. She doesn't go by Kate from what I've read. She got married and her name changed. Her Royal Highness or The Duchess, or maybe even Duchess Catherine would be more appropriate if you think people won't know who you are talking about.

I am surprised they are calling the duchess Kate Middleton. I am also confused about the Royal last name; I thought it was Windsor. They called William, William Wales at his graduation. That was his father and mother; the Ducke and Duchess of Wales. I believe they are Duke and |Duchess of Cambridge. Who knows?

HARDLY dressing for two with a slit going up and a slit in that dress going down. She's a skank. A "Duchess" would have a less tacky dress and so would a mother to be. Imagine Diana with all that going on while pregnant! Never. Oh but she had class.

I wish little watch dogs would stop barking about it. It takes more to be Royal than being a bimbo who tracked William down…with her mother's help. Miss Do-Nothing would be a more apt "title".
