Newtown Shooting Victims’ Names Released [Full List]

After a brief press conference with Dr. Wayne Carver, chief medical examiner working on the Newtown school shooting case, an official victims list was released to press.

Following Carver’s remarks, journalists on scene received a spreadsheet of Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting victims, 20 of whom were first-graders at the school, the medical examiner confirmed. The manifest will also be published to the Connecticut State Police website later in the day.

The children listed as victims of the shooting in Newtown have been officially identified. Of the 20 children killed in the school rampage, eight were boys and 12 were girls. Four were born in 2005. The remaining 16 were born in 2006.

Adults listed as Sandy Hook Elementary victims were identified as well:

Anne Marie Murphy, 7/25/1960
Lauren Russeau, 6/8/1982
Mary Sherlach, 2/11/1956
Victoria Soto, 11/04/1985

Of those killed, all were women and children, and all first-grade students aside from female Sandy Hook Elementary School staffers. The name of the alleged shooter, believed to be Adam Lanza, 20, did not appear on the list of dead. A Connecticut State Police spokesman said that until the shooter is positively identified, law enforcement officials would not be releasing a name for the gunman.

Another notable absence on the list of Newtown shooting victims was that of Nancy Lanza, mother of suspected shooter Adam Lanza. Connecticut State Police have since confirmed that no connection exists between Nancy Lanza and Sandy Hook Elementary, and that she was not a teacher at the school as was widely reported yesterday.
