Texas Secession Petition Movement Racist, Documentary Maker Says

texas secession petition racist

Commentary | The Texas secession petition was a hot topic in the days and weeks after the election of President Barack Obama to a second term earlier this month, with supporters advocating deepening the divide among Americans and detractors decrying the talk as ugly, unpatriotic and unappreciative of the great damage wrought upon this land the last time we decided to try that experiment.

The Texas secession petition drew attention nonetheless, and despite having little legal ground or possibility of success, it seemed many of those whose candidate of choice failed to prevail in a free and open election enjoyed salving their emotional wounds with talk of seceding to right the wrongs they perceive as plaguing America since Obama’s election in 2008. But many of those disheartened by the movement felt that it was one of many racially motivated attacks on the President by a portion of the populace that refuses to accept a black man as the legitimate leader of the free world.

The Texas secession petition garnered signatures in the six-figures in its few weeks over on the White House’s website, and one filmmaker has spoken out about what he seems to suggest is the elephant in the room when it comes to the Texas secession petition — and indeed, the contentious subject of race is what Ken Burns says the Texas secession talk is really all about.

Burns discussed the Texas secession petition movement on yesterday’s Meet The Press, and explained that he couldn’t imagine such talk being bandied about for a white candidate — and to Burns’ point, we haven’t really talked much about secession since the mid-1800s, and what was all that about again? Oh.

Burns riffed to the panel, citing the Tea Party as an element in particular that seems to have been moved to action seemingly due to race-based dislike of the President:

“Race is always there in America….Do you think we’d have a secession movement in Texas and the other places, faddish secession movement, if this president wasn’t African-American? Do you think the vitriol that came out of some elements of the Tea Party would have been at the same level had this President not been Africa-American?”

obama witch doctor window display

As is fairly standard for this particular recurring debate, insulted Republicans have responded with “no, YOU’RE racist” in reply to Burns’ criticism — with one Breitbart blogger charging:

“Note how Burns simply cannot fathom why the Tea Party or conservatives who are currently discussion secession would have a gripe with President Obama other than the color of his skin. It speaks poorly of his ability to break down issues as well as his eagerness to assign hateful thoughts to others without hard evidence to back it up.”

But in fairness to Burns, much of the critique of President Obama does really seem to come down to race, origin or a general feeling among conservatives that he is not “one of us.”

(This perception, of course, boils down to who “us” is — if “us” is a product of a single mom, of color, progressive, et al, President Obama looks and feels like “us” to us.)

Attacks from the beginning of Obama’s first campaign have often centered on vague insinuations that he was born outside the US, that he wears a strange Muslim decoder ring or is taking orders from his dead father and Saul Alinsky – suggesting an ongoing unwillingness to accept that the black guy is really, actually, legitimately American and legitimately president. So much so that secession seems to many in Texas to be the only reasonable next step. I’m just asking the hard questions, here.

Do you feel that the Texas secession petition nonsense would not have been aimed at a white president and is indeed racially motivated, as Ken Burns suggests?

  1. I find this article to be racist…so there.

  2. All those who want to go, go. Then they will really find out just how much it costs to have a government. Buy some little island in the middle of no where & see if you are really happy. I doubt it.

  3. To everyone who is too politically correct to say it, I will say it – This talk of secession by Texas and other southern states is all racially motivated. I say this because I don't consider any of the thousands of people who signed the petition to be "just plan stupid". Therefore since the economy is turning around, the auto industry has been saved, there is now a plan for health care for everyone and our position as the most powerful country in the world is undisputed then that leaves only one other issue that would get people so fired up and that is RACE. Get over it people, he is Black, he is intelligent, he is professional, he is understanding of the middle class, he is willing to take the steps necessary so that we all can have a better life and most of all he is the LEGALLY ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE MOST POWERFUL COUNTRY IN THE WORLD – THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! Get used to it!

  4. The biggest joke in Colorado is Texas! I wonder why?

  5. Yeah that's it. Racism. Texans see their country overrun by mexicans and the federal government instead of doing its job allows them to break the law and stay. I had to press 1 for english today in order to talk to my Electricity provider, Bank too. Our Culture is under attack and people of color try to call our response racist. Not hardley. If anything we have been more than patient. Now we are going to fix the problem. Those who choose to try and stop us can get a taste of Texas hospitality. And for those who still say its racist listen good. If Candians were pouring into my country stealing our jobs our healthcare our educaton our welfare money I would be the same way.

It is NOT about Ken Burns. He is just another human prone to bias, lies, hate, favortism, deciet, etc., (not saying he is any of these but a friggin JUSTICE League super hero he is not), who makes documentaries. Leaving him behind, I believe the protests on Obama started and fueled with his connections to and seemingly approvings of Muslims. MOST in the "Free World" KNOW reality from tynsel optimism, but ignore what is and embrace ignorance. So, we KNOW most Muslims would do anything to see the USA and some other "White"/Anglo nations suffer, go down in any sense of the word (proof is when their masses jump in jubeelation and burn our flags when something bad does happen to us). Terrorism and HL security are things which really matter for those who genuinly Love the USA. Obama blissfully thinks it's all fine, and most Liberals would rather embrace chaos and complete unrest in our future than making a stand NOW, even IF it means being…Conservative as to Who and/or How many outsiders should be allowed here. Conservatives want to protect this country and nake it last standing tall, but Liberals DON'T care much for the USA and rather burn (with Mr. Burns) it down completely than make saving it–EVEN IF IT MEANS CLOSING DOORS TO MUSLIMS or any others where their masses oppose our values. Being Safe Than Sorry IS Sound Thinking…NO ONE, NO ONE, said Anything when Beyonce said 'I feel some one cares about us (blacks) now' when Obama was 1st elected. THAT. WAS. A. RACIST. STATEMENT. But, hey, she is black, so let all blacks get away with whatever they do. Right? IT IS the trend. Many are scared to oppose anything to do with blacks bec either they feel blacks will sue (and likely win–LOL) or start riots/violence (Martin/Zimmermen in Florida and other cases). THESE ARE FACTS, Not racism.

There goes the racist BS again. Ever think some of us are just anti-debt, pro-life, against gay marriage because, yes we do believe in the Bible? Doesn't mean we are "hating" on anyone but we should be allowed to practice our religion as much as the next person. That we want a strong America with jobs instead of welfare? That we do not want a health care system that he has exempting himself from….doesn't that tell you anything at all? Congress and the president are too good for it but you're not? hello? You do realize that making laws that exempt them for that very law goes against our constitution? Right? Oh no….heavens forbid it be logical if it doesn't support what you think. For the so called liberals – I have never seen such intolerance and hate when something disagrees with them. It's a free country for everyone as long as they all agree with what you think or believe what you believe? I don't like Obama period and that goes for his white half either. The racist people are the ones accusing everyone else of it. Get a grip because you certainly don't seem to be even close when it comes to thinking things through. And FYI, it wasn't just the southern states….get your info straight, you're only proving over and over again that you are uninformed. To Nathan Lee, he is no more black than he is white….now who's pulling the race card? hmmmm Facts do not equal racism. Ignorance does and it's not "whitey" who dropping the card.

  10. 100% correct.

  11. You are a complete dumb ass.

  12. Tell me something, if it was a race thing, why didn't 47 states submit their secession petitions four years ago? Wasn't President Obama half black then too? Really sick of the race card being played for everything the democrats and liberals don't like.

BTW, if Texas were to secede it would be you crying NOT us. First thing all your cable and satellite TV, phones, and other communication will be turned off. Second, we refine 85% of all the gasoline you burn, and heating oil, so bundle up while you walk to where ever you please. Third we control most of the Insurance, and a good portion of finance, health, military and their armements, beef, chicken, seafood, rice, wheat, and too much more to mention. Also, Texas pays in 198B a year to the IRS, we get back 38, so we will keep the whole nut and you can figure out how to make up the 160B difference. Meanwhile our taxes will go down, our manufacturing will go up (no unions, lower property costs, much fewer regulations and once again lower taxes), and yours will go down. So Kiss this.

Race, Race, Race…….Sick and tired of it. This President is also " W H I T E ". He was born of a white mother. So in fact he is a terrible White president taking the country away from the constitution and toward socialism. Secede seems to be a good idea to get rid of the stupid people who reelected him, not just the worst White president in the history of this country.

I know people think this is racially motivated, but I am a Texan and This is not racially motivated. Ask people who live in Texas, Normal everyday hard working people who are now struggling for food, gas and paying bills. Its going to get even tougher when they are told they HAVE TO BUY INSURANCE, how do you expect them to afford it when normal people may have 20 bucks left out of their paychecks once they get it? Obama being black has nothing to do with why I don't like him. Hes trying to take our guns as hunters away, our pistols for personal/family protection, and our jobs because alot of companies cant afford to provide insurance for their workers. BTW, everyone in this country and in every state has to press 1 for english, Its annoying but it is what it is. Texas Govenor handed Obama a letter pleading for more border patrol help and Obama turned it away. You want to complain about illegals, then the person your supporting is to blame. The Obamacare program has now made it illegal for medicare recipients to pay cash for any doctor appointments or procedures not covered by medicare. So many people jump to the conclusion that we don't like Obama cuz hes black, GROW UP and listen to others and don't assume that black is always the reason why people don't like someone. Assuming that people don't like him because he is black shows that nothing that anyone has done to stop that kind of racism has done anything in this country. Please all I ask is for you to sit down and listen to other people and you will see why we are so frustrated and why Texas wants to go back to The Republic of Texas.

If we don't have to hear "Don't mess with Texas" anymore than show'em the door…but in the light of it all…this is a small portion of the state and idiots always find a way to make waves…couple of weeks from now we'll all be like.. remember when Texas wanted to secede?

  17. You lost, get over it.

  18. Please, you are insulting dumb asses.

  21. I live in Texas too and I really don't want to pay for some dead beat like you who wants to stiff the rest of us with your medical bills because you'd rather scam the emergency room instead of buying insurance. Tell you what, why don't you give this Texas property tax payer a break and seceed your dead beat ass to another state?

I don't have anything against our President's race, but I do dislike the fact that underneath it all he is anti-God and a communist! And he won't salute our proud flag!

  31. You sound like a very right wing conservative. Did it ever occur to you that some of us just didn't trust Romney? That he seems like he wanted a Bain all over again only on our backs? And what is this welfare thing you talk about? If you think it's only Dems that get welfare, check your facts. Tthe Press & Congress get the beat medical services money can buy. Better than you or I get. Obama says he wants all Americans to have the same medical care he & Congress enjoy. And you're against that? Figures.

I think that there is a fringe element who would actively work towards that no matter what. I think there are people who will get caught up in any movement to secede. I also think that some people rationalize it any number of ways but at the core of it is a dislike of the president because of his race. We've had democrats in office before but we have never had this level of rancor or support for secession. In any case, I don't think anybody has put much thought into what an independent Texas would really look like. I've seen some of the comments – balanced budget? Texas has a budget for a state, not a country. It will find itself buried in debt the second it doesn't have federal support and will not be able to provide the level of services it is able to provide now with federal assistance. Pro-life? You do realize that the president has nothing to do with that. Why is that now an issue deserving of succession? Same with gay marriage. Texas does not have to recognize gay marriage just because other states do. Religious freedom? What federal law prohibits the citizens of Texas from practicing their religion of choice? Are you going to make it a christian country and alienate everybody who isn't christian? What kind of freedom is that?

The president will be in office for 4 years and then we will have the opportunity to replace him. The president doesn't make laws and he doesn't preside over the Supreme Court. In fact, the president doesn't have nearly the power people attribute to him. The democrats don't have enough power in congress to do anything without compromise. It is an absurd overreaction.

I am from Texas, voted for Romney and I think the whole idea is ridiculous.

  35. Ok Texas – wake-up. Who is going to provdie all the "welfare", "food stamps" for the people of Texas. The state of Texas has more to loose than they realize, but that is just a stupidity of their part! Long live the "dumb asses" of Texas. I am so glad that I do not live there!

  36. Everyone who is in the middle or lower is struggling for gas, food etc. What makes you Texans so special? And if I remember right, we were accused of voting for Obama just because he was black. It wasn't because we didn't like or trust Romney, it was, according to Romney & others, because Obama gave us gifts. I am not black or on welfare. I didn't qualify for any of those "gifts" but I voted for Obama because I thought he was a better man than Romney. Period.

  37. He is not legally elected.Where is the birth certificate! Why do they already have him on Treason & god only know's how many illegal act's,that he has committed?I really don't understand how the idiot's in Illinois could even elect him as a govener, without a birth certifficate! ???? I had to have one to get my driver's license! Now,you tell me what is racist about that! OR Ratical! The U,S Constitution,& The Bill of Rights-Is!!!! The LAW!-Ain't changed in several hundered year's!-Race ain't got a "Damn" thing to do wit it!—-All of you here!——"WISE-UP"!

why is this racist? do black people from texas have a problem with a half white president? or did we forget that he is half white.

  49. Did you think literally any other president was an anti-God racist and communist? What's different about this one?

  50. Teena, you will NOT be getting the same health care that the politicians have. Not even close, and did it ever occur to you that we do NOT like Obama because we don't trust him? His lies, failed policies, higher taxes, defense cuts, continued unrestrained spending, Agenda 19, supporting the UN, limiting our rights, and the list goes on and on and on. And his lies continue, although his brainwashing has been and continues to be very successful. The fact that he did nothing the first 4 years besides push PPACA through without anyone knowing what it included should be reason enough for the people to not trust him. If he really wanted us to have the same medical care that he and Congress have, why didn't he put that in his healthcare act, rather than limiting us? And now we will be paying increased medical insurance expenses because of it. Vonda is right, you really do need to check the facts.

Troy Bates – You really have been duped. His certificate has been verified by numerous organizations as being authentic. A scanned image is viewable everywhere. There is nothing more that can be done to prove he is a citizen to anybody who still doesn't believe it. I'm a white republican and I can't think of any reason why people still don't believe it except for an extreme dislike of Obama and perhaps racism is at the very core for a lot of people.

  52. Rudy, I agree with you. Complete dumbass.

  53. My family has been in the South for almost 400 yrs and this thinly veiled racism and bigotry is the reason that I left the South. Therein lies a tremendous difference Kim. I'm not telling you to do or not do anything. I am simply stating that because I or anyone else disagrees with you that does not make me or anyone else racist. The insurance YOU pay for should pay for whatever is in the contract you have signed. However, if someone else, your employer is paying part (most do) then their beliefs should be respected as well. It's all well and fine to throw up what YOU want but YOU seem to be missing, it's not all about YOU. Personally, I don't care what YOU believe in or fail to believe in. Everyone is yelling for fairness while what they are actually saying is "treat me special". It's begun to sound like 3 year olds crying mine mine mine.

  56. Only a Racist, scream's racism-that is your racist! Liberal, have nothing to say, that makes a shit. It's the final card left to play! They are a bunch of free-loader's.I guarentee you if I could afford to put a P>I> on everyone of them,I'd lay money on the fact; They are all on walefare,or some sort of check that hard working American's are paying their "LAZY" asse's for! While they are laid up smokin' dope & makin' babie's for us to pay for too! It's time for a "REVOLUTION",TEXAS SECEDEEING! What-ever?This Country was built on Judao Christian Value's & Godly morales! Look at the building's in Washington, all of them;whitehouse, etc….Our founding father's left that shit! and created a new land apart from that!

  57. You're right! Ended two wars, prevented a depression, got Bin Laden, saved the auto industry. I could go on :)

  58. No, Vonda, that is not the same thing- if you work for your insurance as part of your pay, the employer should not be able to pick and choose what coverage you get. How is that freedom? If my employer contributes $800 a month to insurance, that's PART OF MY COMPENSATION.

If my boss is Jewish, can I buy shrimp with my paycheck? What if my boss is Amish, can I pay the light bill? Maybe my boss dislikes living in sin, can I cohabit and pay my rent with the money he or she gives me?

Kim, I'm not telling you to do or not do anything. I am simply stating that because I or anyone else disagrees with you that does not make me or anyone else racist. The insurance YOU pay for should pay for whatever is in the contract that YOU have signed and YOU are paying 100% of. However, if someone else, your employer is paying part (most do) then their beliefs should be respected as well. If you were paying 80% and your employer only paid 20% would you feel it right for them to purchase insurance that covered things you had no use for or that you felt were wrong? In practicing my religion I should be able to say "no I feel this is wrong" and not be forced to pay for it for someone else. Very simple.

  60. No Now John and Paul….You are acting as if Troy Bates was actually educated. He would not accept that Obama was born in the US even if he had a video of the birth certified by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, with a Sample of the DNA tested Placentia carbon dated with direct scientific proof he was descended from George Washington.
I would not bother to refute Troys statements, you cannot reason with the insane..that is why they are insane, they lack a rational mind,

Texas is the place where the last Presidential assassination occurred. All they think there is bigger is better, they revel in their ignorance and lack of culture. It id really kinda sad

  61. No, that's not how pay works. Pay is a set amount you get in return for your work. Period. It is up to you how it is allocated. Period.

The racism part is not the insurance, however – it is constant "where is the birth certificate," the "Obama gave black and hispanic people gifts" thing, the witch doctor posters, the "go back to Kenya" thing. For starters.

Secession is just a thick layer of racist frosting on a double-layer racism cake that has been baking since 2008.

wah! wah! bohoohoo! Is anyone surprised? Before it was: "We don't want to be part of Mexico. Hey U.S help us secede." Now it's,"We don't like who was democratically elected president. We want to be on our own. Thanks U.S. for the last 150 years. When you elect the 'right kind' of president, we'll think about coming back." I say good riddance. Everything is bigger in Texas; including the crying:)

  63. I am sure that Florida has ots

  64. So why didn't Texas want to break away during the Bush Era? Financial collapse on his watch, 9/11 on his watch, handling of Katrina on his watch, lied about WMD in Iraq, more fortune 500 comapnies failed and CEO's arrested for fraud and market manipulation on his watch, Patriot act (far more over reaching in govt. power than anything Obama has signed into law) on his watch. I am playing the race card because that's what it is. This country was grown by the seeds of racism and slavery and watered with the blood of slaves. And it burns up racist, bigot southern to see who they percieve as a decendant of of slaves in "their white house".

  65. its share of idiots!

  66. Texas should be BANNED from the Union! They don't qualify to secede, to secede you need to be a viable Governmental part of the Union. Texas hasn't done a thing for the U.S. but cause trouble ever since the Alamo.

  70. no dear…your "periods" on pay are incorrect. You are paid an agreed upon amount for your work but you do not get to determine how much goes in taxes..you do not get to designate how much goes on insurance if you have a private plan through your employer. You are expecting your employer to PAY for insurance that will cost him or her more to cover something YOU want. Do you realize Texas was not the only state to file? There were 47. It wasn't about race. Obama has done more to damage race relations that any one in the last 4 years. It's extremely sad if you ask me. The frosting you are referring to is actually a very large amount of American's who are tired of the stupid games and lack of protection of our country.

  71. Taxes have nothing to do with your employer barging into your personal life.

And again, the birth certificate, the "food stamp president" jibe, the witch doctor and now secession, that's racist. Employers don't have to pay extra for contraceptive coverage. It's a place they want to INSERT themselves to meddle, and me, I believe in personal freedom.

All employers pick and chose insurance companies. You fail to understand that most of them do this in order to try to get the employees the best coverages at the lowest rate. It benefits you and them. Insurance is not a part of your agreed upon pay rate unless you have that determined at the time of hire. Most do not unless you are signing a contract with benefits. I am well fully aware of how pay works, from both ends of that argument.

I see that Texas education system is really working out well. They can`t even spell secede.

  75. Really, you would cut your own income stream. Seriously!

  76. Lets see point by point….

Media Conglomerates are all based in NYC. So Cable TV etc would not go off.
    Same for Phone etc
There are 144 Refineries in the US, only 27 are in Texas And one of them is idle) so your 85% is a wild overstatement, Refineries in the US run at about 90% of capacity so there is some room to increase that, but that is if you assume Texas would not be exporting gas…since they would need the income that is highly unlikely and we could easily increase capacity, you also fail to note that the oil refined in Texas also gets used in Texas..
Insurance companies are mostly HQ in Connecticut so you are far off base there.
Military supplies would relocate out of Texas very fast, an industry you would lose.
Only about 12% of Beef is produced in Texas and a significant portion of that is consumed there, so no big loss and again you presume Texas would not continue to export beef.
Texas is not a leading producer of seafood, Those designations belong to Alaska (50% of the total), California, Washington, and the Northeast Coast, Shrimp are mostly imported but they come from Louisiana, The Carolinas and then Texas domestically Again you fabricated your claims.
Only 5.3% of rice produced in the US is produced in Texas
Texas ranked #10 in Wheat Production, again not a top producer. And they have dropped the last 3 years in a row
ALL (100%) of any US military bases etc would immediately leave Texas a total loss to your 'state'
THe majority of Companies with large operations and HQs in Texas would relocate to other states, the losses in jobs, taxes and to the economy of Texas would be staggering. IN fact Texas saw a drop of Fortune 500 companies of over 10% from 2010 to 2011

What Texas does produce is a lot of arrogance. A lot of ignorance (Which I have just shown you have in spades)
We would not cry if you were to go, but unfortunately for you, that will not happen. THere are a lot of people there with a bit more intellect than you. (Not hard to have that of course)

What you do have is a crime rate which i over 25% higher than New York, An Obesity rate that is the nations highest 5 Major Cities in Texas are in the top 10 for violent crime (By Per 100K Pop)

    You rank #31 in Education
You rank #30 in Life Expectancy
You rank #3 in Teen Pregnancy

    How nice for you.

Time to grow up and learn that your state is not nearly what you think it is. You think we envy you, we don't..we see what your state really is.

    Backwards, llrelavent
    All you have is Oil

  77. Troy Bates uh it would be 'you're an idiot' See You're is the contraction of you and are
    Your is the possessive

So lets talk about your idiocy.

    Home Schooled?

  78. I don't see this as a racist issue, I see it as a statement that people are really sick of Washington politics and that this seems like the only way to control their future. I would enjoy watching this develop into a serious secession attempt. Maybe then Washington would get the message.

Insurance may not be part of your agreed upon pay rate but the part they pay into your insurance IS part of your compensation if you choose to accept the insurance that your company provides to you. I do not agree with Kim on the point about "meddling" I know of no company that views it any differently than offering as much as they can for as little as possible to both them and the employee. The larger the pool, the more they can offer at a lower cost. It would be difficult to offer insurance a la carte. You do not have to accept the company offered insurance. That is a choice that you make. You also have a choice not to work for that company.

I do not believe that everybody who has grabbed onto the secession idea is racist. The Tea Party is an example of discontent that is ridiculed as being racist and yet a significant percentage of people in the tea party supported the candidacy of Herman Cain. It is at its core a conservative movement based on fiscal policy but it also attracts an element for whom race is an issue. I do agree with Kim that the "birther" movement and many of the arguments used as personal attacks against Obama have an undercurrent of racism. When I see guys trying to present a valid argument for secession but use monikors such as "Keep the White House White", it is difficult to argue that race doesn't play a part in this for many people.

You actually believe the bible is a Real and true story . Which bible ,what authour and from what year ?

  82. There must be some other reason for all the Anti Obama posts I see that can only refer to him in racist and hateful references. I guess it would be a waste of time for suggest a little respect for the office. But all these low-lifes have to refer to him as Muslim, N-word, Saddam, Kenyan born, and post racist pictures or drawings like the one featured in this article. You almost have to respect the ones out there that admit they hate him because he's black. The racist cowards in Texas want you to believe that the state would be better off by not being in the US. A concept that could only be considered by people with single digit IQ's. Y'all own there got a plan for when you leave? Ask the bigots that are spearheading this movement. My guess is that every man that fought at the Alamo is spinning in their graves. For years to come now being identified as a Texan is going to be a put down slur. Proud of yourselves?

  83. Troy Bates YOUR AN IDIOT!, HE WAS NEVER GOVERNOR OF ILLINOIS!

  84. Troy is entitled to his opinion. It can't be proven (Troys opinion) but who really cares now, Obama did get elected twice. Glad to see Rich H. is here, always wanted to know who set the standard for culture.

  85. Been watching way too much Faux News. You haven't a clue about debt just the Fox News slant on it.
Get a life give yourself a break and get in step with the real people not the reality showtime dummies.

  86. Take your own advice troy boy, your way off base and need to ketchup!

  87. I don't believe that the petions for Secession have much to do about President Obama and his race. This is an ongoing thing going back to even before President Obama was even known to the public. It's a reality that we have an imperial, evil. oppressive U.S. Congress and an oppresive Presidency which do not take their powers from the consent of the people. In other words this is no longer a Government by the people for the people as our founding fathers spelled out in the various aricles of the U.S. Constitution. Today, Congress and the President usurp their powers and oppress the American people. Most of the federal laws are unconstitutional yet thousands of people are in jail because of those laws…and the Evil U.S. Supreme Court approves of this oppression. And those oppressed are all of us regardless of race or gender.
This is what I see in the action of those people of the different States who seek secession from this oppressive Federal Govenment.

  88. Robert, seems your just a misguided dummy from Maryland. I excuse you for being just plain dumb!
O'Bama won by a blow out and you don't seem to want to go along with the wide majority, too bad. We should be getting rid of you!

  89. Hey troyboy, get on your horse and ride the flock outta town or outta the country we ain't goin to miss you troy boy! Take that freakin hat with ya too! Leave the woman, I can debrief her real good, lol.

  90. He is black and white…but only the black card gets played. The man says our constitution is outdated and needs to be changed. Screw that. Treason is what I call it. Secede is what I say. Bring back our Republic to follow the law (The Constitution) and get rid of all the social programs that are for the non producers that take money from the producers of this country. You say we are racist because we want to follow our constitution…well I say you are racist and you want to live life off our sweat and hard work.

  91. Vonda…you say it well. The uninformed call the race card…They just don't understand that we need to protect our Republic, that this president is undermining our Constitution…the law of the land.

  92. Lewanda Barton

Everything is racist since Obama become President. If we sneeze it's probably racist….

  93. Let's be honest White Canadians if they came here by the thousands and illegally they wouldn't destroy our culture and way of life. So, I would welcome them here. Did you see what happened in this last election? All non-Whites ganged up against Mitt Romney and the Republican Party. Yes, a whole bunch, millions, of White traitors, joined them, mostly White women, but they got together and told the White man…Hell with you, get out of the way, we're going to take over!!!

We have to do the same. As Whites, we have to regroup and think what actions to take before it's really too late. We have to stop this invasion and we need all the Whites we can get no matter where they come from.

  94. Joe Kaiser he won the electorial vote by a blow out. He did not win the popular vote by a blow out…just barely won over half the peoples votes in this country….and lets not forget the military votes that didnt get counted and the votes that didnt get counted due to proven fraud. So lets just say about half the people in this country are for Obama and just about half the people in this country is against Obama. We can say a majority of the vote for Obama are the non producers of our country who live off social programs and the ones who voted for him just because he is man of color and not because of his political ideas. I cannot believe there are so many uninformed people….read your constitution…oh yeah…..people don't care as long as they get handouts.

  95. Teena Marie Smith take some time to inform yourself and you wouldn't have to ask such a stupid question. The information is out there…you have a computer…google it

The problem isn't racism, it is lack of information or mis-information. http://clashdaily.com/2012/11/james-carville-says-80-of-democrats-are-politically-clueless/

  97. Who are the "They" that have him on treason etc.??? To satisfy you racist, bigoted, morons, The POTUS released his birth certificate publicly. Call Nathan an idiot if you want, you're just going to have to live with the fact that anyone with the brains to tie their own shoes knows you hate him because you're a KKK loving racist and he is black!!!!!! Go burn a cross.

  98. And to satisfy your Welfare loving backside. GET A JOB. You all need to STFU. Realize the fact that if a state wants to being apart of the US, no one can do anything about it. BUT it takes a majority vote. Then they get the joys of being there own independent country. Its not about race or creed. Its about what is right. To answer everyones questions, yes. The powers that have been given to certain agencies are UN-CONSTITUTIONAL. NO, the constitution is not out of date. NO, this not a matter of fat cats wanting to protect there wallets, but rather about ordinary people who want their rights back. AND NO!!! The constitution stays as it is. As a member of a family who has fought in every war this country has seen, YOU DISGUST ME. It is not some disposible tool. It represents the hope our fore-fathers had for the way this country needs to be. It is the very foundation of this country. FOR THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE.
So to all of you who made this about race, SHAME ON YOU. You obviously have no intellegence at all.

  99. I agree. Using race as a political card is as low as politicizing war and tragedy. Like Hurricane Sandy,Obama or any other politition never even cared about the people. They only saw potential votes and numbers. Obama went ther and he wasn't genuinly concerned, any ametuer poker play could tell you that. He is just another scum -bag lying sack that is being played like a harp by special-interest groups.

  100. Just because you don't approve of the way this president is running our country is not racist…I don't approve of the president but it has to do with his policies and nothing else. I think the secession movement is about people being fed up being leashed to Obama's sickly economy.

Honestly in my life time I have not seen the best of presidents; I think that the best ones have long since passed us in history. There was a time when great presidents did not simply get elected because they followed greedy party agenda some of our best defied popularty party agendas and simply faught for a better America. Our nation has a lot of big problems financially for a lot of different reasons national debt is still piling up and let's be honest its accumulating faster then our revenue and no matter who is in charge or what color, what age, what religion that president needs to have the backbone and guts to make the tough choices to literally bring us back from bankruptcy and make this a strong healthy nation and right now I do not see it happening regardless of who would have been elected. I just see more of the same old same. Not enough frank, honest, realistic solutions that actually do something to fix the overwhelming problems and bring back American industry, restore the middle class, and make our nation profitable and healthy again. We used to be a nation of industy and producers, big thinkers and strong business, but as of now our dollar continues to lose value, national debt has skyrocketed, industry hasn't been booming in over a decade (blame can be shared all around on this topic). We need better choices for leadership.

  102. It doesnt have to be that way..we dont have to settle for mediocre presidents.

  103. Vonda Rochelle I am speaking about an employer feeling they have a right to determine whether birth control is for "medical" purposes or contraceptive. THAT IS CRAZY TALK. It saves no one money. It is meddling pure and simple.

  104. You're an idiot and I guess G Bush who got us in the mess we were in graduated at the top of his class along side you

  105. Leroy Tyson I agree bye see ya . Ya'll don't come back now you hear

  106. ttouring27 Give it back to Mexico

  107. Joe Kaiser Totally agree. When Bush stole the election to win his second term ,why didn't all the self righteous right didn't secede then? I mean a thief is a criminal where was the indignation then?

  108. Amen!!! not racially motivated my a @#%

  109. Spot on, and those uncle toms who think Mitt Romney gave a damn about them and their plight are woefully mistaken. He cannot even relate to the average joe of his own race much less relating to another

  110. Let's break out the cheese to go with all the whine LOL

  111. This has nothing to do with race but of course the media uses this so it grabs attention. It's not because he is black. It's because he is a bad president! Can people stop being so damn petty and talk about the real problems!

  112. And yet one of the people holding the SECDEE! sign is black…(which I am thinking they meant to say "SECEDE").

I am not a Christian, and you need to watch a movie called "Dreams from my Real Father" . Obama himself narrates it!!!

  116. Racist is all they can come up with to defend Obama, I'm Mexican, in the middle class, I did 2 tours in iraq before I was 22, used to be dirt poor, and I'm a Texan, cant believe that Obama made it all the way to the president seat without his birth certificate, we Americans cant get a job without one and somehow he manage to become president, come on people, I love this country so much but Ive had enough of the federal government, they taking my rights a day at time, that's where I draw the line, when my freedom is at risk. That is why I want to succeed and The Nationalist Movement is going to help this cause. Its time for '' We the People" need to stand up for our selfs and stop been scared of the government. texasnationalists.com Suggest all you people who are hating on Texas should check it out before you open your mouths about Texans and what were trying to do, Stop using your racist excuse.

  117. Who moved the rock? We have seen his birth certificate a thousand times.

  118. Ok everyone has had their rant now… I have nothing to add but "Bye…don't let the door hit your jeans on the way out".

  119. the seccession movements includes not just white christian right wing southerners but also asians jews blacks and etc.i am from ny and I support them 100 percent, if they succede I am moving to texas and becoming a citizen there.we are tired of being a slave to the federal government, and yes I religiously am against gay marriage and other things that really get under my skin that federal government is forcing on us.i prefer to be a free texan than a slave to an obnoxious dictatorial federal government.they threaten us with no pension or health care.they are two systems that are bankrupt and ill managed.my message to texas is that you are not alone.if a guy from brooklyn got your back just imagine how much support you have from states similar to yours.do not give up.
