So many people waste time at the ER! It's for EMERGENCIES people! Broken, bleeding, chest pain, respiratory distress, not a SORE THROAT! Call your primary care doctor, they do a rapid strep test and results are within 5 minutes. Stop using costly medical care when you should be seeing your regular doctor.

I'm in the medical field and people do it all the time! Also, you do not take antibiotics for the flu, they do not help with viruses, which the flu is, but everyone that gets it wants antibiotics. That's why MRSA is out in the public now, oveduse of antibiotics. Only time will cure that. Gotta let it run it's course.

the main reason people go to the ER for things like that is generally not being able to get a doctors appt(sometimes i cant get 1 for a week-2 weeks in the future so i can understand why some people do that).its not like theyre forced to see you in the ER, its more or less just a last option kind of thing to be safe

Not in my area, you can get an urgent care appointment within a day, usually the same day. There are also walk in clinics. An average ER visit costs about $800. in this area. An urgent care visit to the doctor is about $75. I'm pretty sure people like Selena Gomez have their own doctor, or should have anyway. I don't care how much money you make off your "voice", don't waste the emergency room's time. Just sayin!
