Tom Hanks Is Awesome And Here’s Proof
Celebrities are asked to take photos with fans on a daily basis. Some find it annoying, some refuse to do it, and some, like the ever-awesome Tom Hanks, embrace it.
One of the actors’ fans ran into him earlier this week and asked the famous actor to take a few photos.
Hanks could have responded:
- How dare you talk to me.
- Kid, I’m a two-time Oscar winner. I don’t pose on film unless Spielberg is holding the camera.
- I made $50 million for Angels and Demons. If you want a picture it will cost you $100.
Instead, Hanks let the kid steal his glasses, let the kid pretend that he was drunk, and posed for some great photos.
Hanks has had amazing success throughout his career, but has still kept a pretty level head about his fame and career.
“I love what I do for a living, it’s the greatest job in the world, but you have to survive an awful lot of attention that you don’t truly deserve and you have to live up to your professional responsibilities and I’m always trying to balance that with what is really important.”

Tom Hanks is an awesome actor. Very talented and I feel a very down to earth actor. Very hard to find anymore.

Tom Hanks is an asesome actor but he is also an humble and wonderful Human being. Never letting his stature of a great star overcome his persona….he is truly a man of character and integrity. Good for you Tom……once again you are first and foremost a human being.

Sad that there is no Love button on Facebook. Tom Hanks is just one of those actors I'd love to meet in person. He seems like a really cool guy and like he'd be a great friend to have. (No, not because he is rich. I know what you're thinking) I've seen his promotional videos to get emergency radio/ flashlights to people in places that don't have power. Hes a fun loving, caring, humanitarian, type of guy, that's not afraid to get dirty or pick up a cause.

I love Tom Hanks. Good for him he keeps his feet on the ground. It is nice to hear that there is actors who aren't full of themselves. I would love to meet Tom Hanks someday. Lucky guy to have met him. Nice pictures by the way.

As for his movies. There are too many to even chose. I love him in the Green Mile, Cast Away and others. I love watching toy story as well. Too many movies he has made that are great. Never get sick and tired of watching them.

Yeah, he is so funny! He did a great job on Castaway, because he was on the screen mostly by his self. I wish more actors and actresses would learn from him, because, if we didn't like them, they wouldn't be famous. But, we too, should learn to give them some space too.

Any time an actor as 'Big' as this 'Castaway' who was able to make a 'Splash' in Hollywood and yet not act like a 'Money Pit' is classy. I've never met him but would like to some day.

I love Tom Hanks. I own quite a few of his movies lke FORREST GUMP and PHILADELPHIA as well as a few more…my personal favorite Tom Hanks film is the little-seen 1986 gem EVERY TIME WE SAY GOODBYE featuring Tom with Cristina Marsillach. Had to search far & wide to find this obscure yet amazing film [had seen it on USA cable channel at 4 a.m. one night] and I loved it.

Oh, I like almost everything he does, but especially his earlier work when he did more comedies. The Burbs is one of my all time favs.

That's pretty cool. It's good to see actors/celebrities who are cool with their status, but take time to remember, "Hey, I just got lucky." and can give back. Others though…whoooooo….could take lesssons from this cat.

Tom Hanks is awesome and a really down-to-earth guy.
(Btw I just noticed this, but does anyone else realize there are two different kids in these photos? I'm just asking because one of them looks exactly like me…and I don't remember this at all O.o).

I have always enjoyed his work, but I have to say I'm an even bigger fan now that I read that story. More celebrities should follow in his footsteps and show a little humility.
