Missing Arkansas Girl Found Alive After The Couple She Lived With Was Murdered
A missing Arkansas girl feared killed or abducted after authorities discovered the bodies of the couple she lived with has been found alive and well, police said.
Amber Whitlow was discovered on Saturday night in Memphis, Tenn., CNN reported. She was there with her 33-year-old brother, Antonio Whitlow, who Memphis police said was a suspect in her abduction as well as the double homicide. He is now in custody.
Police discovered the couple dead earlier in the day on Saturday, slain in the home they shared in Little Rock. A man who attended their church called authorities, prompting police to investigate and find the couple dead just inside the doorway of the home, Sgt. Cassandra Davis told CNN. The man was found a little further inside the home, police said. Both the deceased were in their 60s.
After the slaying, police discovered that Whitlow was missing and issued an Amber Alert for her.
Police have not released names of the couple or said how they died, but a police report listed knife or other cutting instrument as a weapon. The couple was the adopted parents of the missing Arkansas girl, The Associated Press reported.
The no-longer missing Arkansas girl Amber Whitlow was taken to a children’s hospital as a precaution, CNN reported, and departments of child services in both Tennessee and Arkansas departments had been notified. She has since returned to Arkansas and is now the custody of the Department of Human Services custody while her family makes arrangements for her care, police said in a statement.
